SIMPLY PUT, IT'S THE STANDARD OF BEAUTY—THE WAY THINGS ARE MEANT TO BE.

THE COLORS AND IMPERFECTIONS FEEL TIMELESS AND ORGANIC. THAT'S ALSO HOW LIFE FEELS: WHILE EVERYTHING AROUND US IS MOVING TOWARD PERFECTION AND CRISPNESS, I WANT TO REMAIN IN IMPERFECTION—IN FAILURE. BECAUSE THAT'S WHERE BEAUTY TRULY LIVES: IN THE UNEXPECTED, IN THE ORGANIC EXPRESSION.

AS I SAID, I TRY TO PRESERVE THIS FEELING IN EVERYTHING I DO, NOT ONLY IN FILM PHOTOGRAPHY.

I DON'T LIKE THE SPEED THAT COMES WITH PERFECTION, WHERE NO EFFORT IS REQUIRED, WHERE THERE'S NO ROOM FOR THE UNEXPECTED, NO STRUGGLE FOR ANYTHING.

WHEN THINGS FAIL, PEOPLE ARE FORCED TO SLOW DOWN. WHEN YOU CAN ONLY TAKE ONE PICTURE OF A MOMENT, WHEN YOU HAVE TO WAIT A WEEK TO SEE THAT IMAGE—YOU ARE INVITED TO SLOW DOWN. AND WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN, YOU FEEL THE EXPERIENCE MORE DEEPLY.

DO LESS, BUT DO IT WITH INTENTION. CREATE ORGANIC PIECES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL SOMETHING, THAT EVOKE EMOTION, AND HOPEFULLY GIVE YOUR VIEWER A PART OF THAT EXPERIENCE.

I LIKE MY OLD CAR—IT'S LIKE A PERSON, WITH ITS QUIRKS AND PROBLEMS, YET IT HAS PERSONALITY. I DON'T FEEL THAT WITH MODERN, "PERFECT" CARS.
